Janet Jackson ft Vanessa-Mae - Velvet Rope
“We have a special need to feel that we belong. Come with me inside, inside my velvet rope.”
Referred to as a masterpiece, The Velvet Rope has been the subject of critical acclaim for its lyrical depth, emotional vulnerability, and mature sound. It is listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.”
To my Black LGBT fellows, thoughts?
I feel like it’s unnecessary for the pic to be so graphic. I know it’s a sex related subject, but it seems way too sexualized.
What’s graphic about this picture though? You don’t see anything. Not even a nipple. Is it the positioning of the two men? Is it because they are two Gay Black men? Is it because Black bodies are often hypersexualized? Would it have been better if, perhaps, the bodies were in a different position and covered by a sheet?
lol c’mon now… they’re naked and in a provocative position. I agree with it being unnecessarily graphic but hey, if throwin up two butt ass naked dudes gettin it is what it takes for us to just look and read… Either way I like the ad’s message. We simply don’t speak on the subject.
That’s it. I’m done. Fuck it all.
I’ve lost entirely all patience I could muster for people.
I’m sick and tired.
I have no time for people who are too stuck in colonized bullshit to see blatant fuckery.
And I’m sure as fuck not gonna sit and educate you when you ain’t even tryin to learn.
I guess it’s just gonna be me, myself, and I as the Queen sings
Cuz I’m not here to hold hands and chant
I’m done with the peace and love hippie shit
I’m angry and I got a goddamn right to be.
Living with your mind de-conditioned does that to you.
There’s just too much shit in this life, and I’m done. DOOOONE.
Walk your own path and just stay the fuck outta mine.
That’s what I thought.
